Washington, April 26 – (TOB) – US President Donald Trump posted photos showing a curly‑haired man lying face down on a carpet with his hands tied behind his back. Trump said federal authorities were investigating the suspect’s California residence.

Washington DC’s mayor said the suspect, Cole Tomas Allen, is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital while remaining in police custody. He is a Caltech mechanical engineering graduate (2017), master’s in computer science (2025), worked as a tutor/teacher and self-described indie game developer/engineer.

He allegedly rushed a Secret Service checkpoint armed with multiple weapons (including a shotgun, handgun, and knives), fired shots that struck an officer’s vest, and was quickly subdued and taken into custody. He has been charged with federal offenses like assault on a federal officer.

Investigators believe the man had been staying at the hotel, which appears to be how he gained access during the event.

Trump’s Statement

“The man has been captured. They’re going to his apartment. I guess he lives in California, and he’s a sick person, a very sick person, and we don’t want things like this to happen,” Trump said after being escorted off stage during the incident.

While speaking at the White House alongside Cabinet members, Trump described the suspect’s actions and said, “A man charged a security checkpoint, armed with multiple weapons, and he was taken down by some very brave members of Secret Service.”

The suspect in the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting is believed to be a 31‑year‑old man from Torrance, California, CNN reports.
