We welcome contributions from guest writers, experts, and community members on South Asian and global issues.
Types of Submissions We Accept
- Opinion pieces / Op-Eds: personal viewpoints on current events.
- News analysis: deep dives into political, economic, or cultural developments.
- Features: human-interest stories, interviews, and investigative reports.
- Letters to the Editor: short responses to published articles.
- Research-based articles: well-sourced studies relevant to South Asia.
Content Requirements
- Original work only; not previously published elsewhere.
- Ideal length: 800–1,200 words (flexible).
- All factual claims must be backed by credible sources.
- Clear, accessible English; no hate speech, defamation, or misinformation.
- Images must include captions and usage rights.
Formatting Guidelines
- Submit as Word or Google Docs.
- Include a clear headline and subheadings.
- Use standard fonts and avoid excessive formatting.
Editorial Review
- All submissions are reviewed by editors.
- We may edit for grammar, style, clarity, and length.
- Substantial edits are discussed with the author prior to publication.
- Submission does not guarantee publication.
Rights and Permissions
- By submitting, you grant South Asian Affairs a license to publish online and distribute via our platforms.
- Authors retain copyright and may republish elsewhere after 30 days with credit to South Asian Affairs.
- Contributors are responsible for ensuring no third-party rights are infringed.
Contributor Profile
- Include a short author bio (50–100 words).
- You may add a headshot and links to professional sites or social media.
- Transparency about qualifications and expertise is encouraged.
Payment
- No payment for unsolicited submissions at this time.
- Commissioned features may be compensated upon agreement.
