Colombo, February 6 -Pathfinder Foundation (PF) and the New Delhi-basedChintan Research Foundation (CRF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 6 February 2026 in Colombo to broaden their collaboration as independent think tanks.
The Acting High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Dr Satyanjal Pandey, and Milinda Moragoda, Founder of the Pathfinder Foundation, graced the occasion. Bernard Goonetilleke, Chairman of the Pathfinder Foundation, and Mr Shishir Priyadarshi, President of CRF, signed the MoU.
The collaboration between PF and CRF will focus on key areas, including, but not limited to, strategic minerals, renewable energy, new technologies, connectivity, tourism, trade, investment, geopolitical developments affecting the region, and other mutually agreed areas of cooperation. The occasion is particularly significant, as the MoU will further broaden the Pathfinder Foundation’s collaboration with leading think tanks in India, support efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between India and Sri Lanka, and enhance regional cooperation.
Others present at the occasion included Dr. Cchavi Vasisht, Associate Fellow representing CRF; Mr K. Balasundaram, Chief Executive Officer of MMBL; Dr. R. H. S. Samaratunga, former Secretary to the Ministry of Finance; Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka; two Distinguished Fellows of the Pathfinder Foundation, Dr Dayaratna Silva, Executive Director; Amb. (Retd.) A. A. Jawad, Director in charge of the Pathfinder Foundation’s Centre for India-Sri Lanka Initiatives; and Maj. Gen. (Retd.) S. Sallay, Senior Fellow of PF.
